This happened to me today. I was with my friend at Orchard Paragon this afternoon. She went to the washroom, leaving me sitting outside on a bench eating ice-cream. Halfway through, I heard someone calling out, "Hey, that lady over there!" I turned over and realised a lady Ang Moh was addressing me. She continued, "I think these 2 guys are taking pictures of your legs. And I think that was very rude." With that, she disappeared into a lift.

At that very moment, I was stunned momentarily as I gazed at the 2 guys. They were surprised at having been exposed too, and they too stared at me. We must have been staring at each other for a full 10 secounds and they dumbly stood there for a full minute before they nudged each other and moved away.

I was flabbergusted and helpless at the very moment. wanted to confront them but didnt know what to say or do. afraid that i might create a scene and embarrass myself. too stunned and shocked, not enough man-power ( friend was in the ladies) etc etc.

And i just saw them walked away helplessly.

i am starting a column, to talk about all this pervertic, phsychotic acts that have been done on normal girls like us. Come'on girls! if you have had such experience, please share so that more of us can be prepared when such a time comes and know how to react instantly. let's start off with mine.

please give serious thought they should not be taken as silly antics. because they DID happen.

Scenario 1: Being taken pictures of

1. Be brave. Confront them. Prepare to make a scene and totally embarrass yourself if nothing is discovered in their phones. Pull their shirts and scream loudly to stop them from leaving the scene of crime. But remember to reiterate the point that they HAVE to show you if they have nothing to hide. Apologise if nothing is found.

2. Let them go ?!

Scenario 2: being molested in a MRT train (DAMN PERVERTS)

1. Yell out loud ( what are you doing you pervert! you touched me!) and quickly look around you and ask out loud " can anyone help me?!"

2. If step 1 fails, kick him in the balls if you're both standing ( preferably with knees for greater impact)

or, ifyou're both sitted down, stand up in front of him push his bloody head against glass window behind him.

3. If all else fails, there is a red emergency button beside the sliding door. press it to speak to the control station officers. they will be there at the next station, ready to apprehend him. (recommended by a female police officer)

Scenario 3: Being flashed at ( with his dick, masterbation inclded. Damn them)

1. If there's somebody near you, arouse their attention. and play it by ear from there.

2. Ignore him. ( he didnt touch you, and eventually they'll go "down". you wont have evidence that they flashed

Scenario 4: Being blown whistles at

1. Easy. exhibit your middle finger. but kindly consider the consequences of doing that. (it might trigger their excitment of being noticed and they might pester you)

2. Ignore again! (sometimes ignoring them is the best policy because yet again, they didnt touch you! so just move on and forget about it)

Scenario 5: Being feasted by their intent glares

1. From numerous experiences, it's best to avoid their glares. because when they know they've captured your attention, they actually enjoyed it. some will continue looking at you, some will smile at you. TA MA DE SI PERVERT. also from experience, when you've ignored them long enough, they tend to lose interest and look away.

Scenario 6: When the person next to you dozes off and leans towards you.(unintentionally)

1. Stand up and sit elsewhere

2. Wake him up. " excuse me you are leaning onto me"

3. Shift to the edge of the seat. Let him lean all he wants behind you. (especially when there are no more other seats you can change to)

Scenario 7: When some men seat so very close to you on the train (whether by purpose or not)

1. Keep to yourself as much as possible and avoid contact

2. Put your bag between two of you abruptly to inform him subconsciously that he has invaded your space.

and please dont be suprised if i ever turned into a lesbian because of the encounters.

last but not least,

DO NOT SLEEP IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT! BECAUSE YOU GIVING PERPETRATORS A CHANCE!!!
